Canton, MI

Canton is a township, not a town, in the northwest corner of Wayne county. It’s best described as a bedroom community as Canton mostly has residential housing and a lot of retail businesses. In 2015 is was found to be the second safest city in Michigan behind Troy and the 29th safest in the country. Canton is a very diverse community which is reflected on a drive down Ford Road with many restaurants serving Indian, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine. Plymouth-Canton Community schools are a very popular and a big reason so many people move into the area. Cherry Hills Village is a fantastic example of the new urbanist movement, a community with multiple types of housing, shopping and easy access to all of it for an environmentally friendly neighborhood. The geographical boundaries of of the township are Joy Rd to the north, Mott/Van Born Rd to the south, Napier Rd to the west and Lotz Rd to the east.
